1.) What if I can't remember anything and it's all one big blur ?
A : Welcome to the club  ...You have earned it !  Welcome Home !!

2.) How do I login ?
A : You can login two ways, as a user or as a guest. To login as a user see the answer to question # 3.
To login as a guest, click on the login link from the home page (top left) or simply  click here .

3.) How do I enter my military history ?
A : Simply select your branch of service and enter your first duty assignment. You will be asked to select a username and password. When you later return to the site, you will then use the login feature on the homepage. After you have entered your first duty assignment, you will be able to add assignments from your new "My Page" without starting all over again like a first time user. This would only be necessary if you served in more than one branch of service, i.e. service in both the Army and the Navy.

4.) How do I search ?
A : After you have entered your first duty station, you will be able to access the "Search Page". Start with everything blank on the Search Page and enter only the criteria you want. Each input field is searchable by itself or with additional fields.

Example: If you wanted to find all the shipmates who served on the Saratoga when you did, enter ship name and period only. If you want only the aviators, then add that also.

5.) Why do I get a timed out message when I try to enter my history ?
A : If there is a long delay before going to another page, the program will reach a time out. This helps keep the site running quickly and prevents the need to log out. If you want to write a lengthy message, you can add to it later, without the time constraints, once you become a user.

6.) Why should I save a search ?
A : Saving a search is like adding a favorite bookmark. This should be done when you have found where you belong and allows you to return quickly to check for new enlistments.

7.) How can I change, delete or correct my profile ?
A : Login and from your "My Page" select the profile you wish to edit or delete by clicking on it.

8.) Can a relative or friend of a deceased veteran enter their information ?
A : Yes. Please include DOD and your relationship in the message box.

9.) What if I am still in the Service ? Can I still enter myself ?
A :   Yes. Active duty visitors are welcome to enter their military history to date.
The period given keeps it all straight.

10.) How do I get to the Message Boards ?
A : There is a link to the Boards on the home page to the right or... just click here .
